Cross Platform Password Manager
Testbed Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (lucid)
Installation: Via APT
Version: 0.4.3-1
Description:
KeePassX is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the algorithms AES or Twofish.

It has a simple GUI and it has some neat features: It supports groups and subgroups and can generate a tree like stucture to organize entries, can securely store attachments, is lockable, generates passwords according to specified criteria, allows notes for each account and searches all credentials easily, and original versions of modified entries are, by default, backed up and kept in a group called Backup.
It has "Copy Username to Clipboard", "Copy Password to Clipboard" and "Copy URL to Clipboard", but what is cool is "Perform AutoType" (currently supported on Linux only), a realy handy feature. It think I would not need a Firefox Add-on!
Moreover, since it is cross-platform and the user is able to specify a location for storing the password file, it is truely portable.
However, it has some shortages too: Fields of all credentials are the same and entries can hold the same type of information. It supports only one attachment per entry and attachments cannot be viewed or edited.
