Simple note-taking. Powerful ideas.
Testbed Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (lucid)
Installation: Via APT
Version: 1.2.0-0ubuntu1
Description:
Tomboy is a desktop note-taking application which is simple and easy to use. It lets you organise your notes intelligently by allowing you to easily link ideas together with Wiki style interconnects.

Tomboy is a nifty note taking application and its beauty lies in it’s simplicity. It mostly acts as I expected it to; for example, it opens links in a browser with a single click. However, when copying text, it fills the clip board with simple plain text.
It also has a good set of features: Inline spelll checking, Auto-linking web & email addresses, Undo/redo, Highlighting text, Font styling & sizing, Bulleted lists, Synchronization, and more http://projects.gnome.org/tomboy/features.html.
Tomboy is written in C# and utilizes the Mono runtime (which I do not like at all) and Gtk#. Automatic spell-checking is provided by GtkSpell.
