Kjots is a notebook utility that organizes notes using groups of pages. This package is part of KDE, and a component of the KDE PIM module.

KJots has a slick interface and supports limited rich text editing; however I miss the clear formatting feature. You can search through all the notes easily. KJots allow you to export all your notes as text files or in HTML. Additionally, as its name suggests, it integrates well with KDE.
Nevertheless, there is no support for inserting images or tables. Moreover, it only supports one level of branching and can not be used as an outliner.
